Studs to Shingles – November Edition

So you think construction and development slow down in the off-season? No Way! There is more happening now in our neighborhoods than in past years – and that’s saying lot. I’ll be writing about many of these different projects keeping my eye on them over then few months. It’s interesting to see how development is changing th landscape but in many ways keeping it exactly the same.

For instance 6 Pleasant Street below sold in November 2018 for $750,000. Work began almost immediately and without any noticeable change to volume or footprint – Look at it now! It has retained its original size and perhaps added half a floor on top. It has not officially been listed for sale but is rumored that when it is it will be somewhere above $1.5M.

122 Commercial Street is a well known and iconic (excuse the word – but it’s true) building at the hook of Commercial Street across from the Coast Guard. Station. It sold for $1.5M in February of 2018. The very able Cape Tip Builders are renovating the building, after lifting it, into what is sure to be a fabulous small development. We’ll keep you posted.

72A Commercial Street was already one of the most charming West End cottages loctaed on the walking path between Commercial Street and Tremont Street. It sold in November 2018 for $880K. It has also been recently raised and an incredible renovation is sure to follow. Sorry for the refuse laden picture – its hard to get greta pictures of constuction zones.

These three developments/renovations illustrate the incredible quality of design and construction work being done in Provincetown. I’ll bring you many more examples in the next few weeks.
